Cleaning Commutator and Slip Ring Surfaces with a Brush
When there is a need for cleaning the contact surfaces of commutators and slip rings with brushes, emery cloth with aluminum oxide is NOT recommended, as conductive abrasive particles will cause arcing and damage to the surface. Many times, stone cleaning, garnet paper and machining are not a convenient, sufficient, or cost-effective option for machines as the priority is to keep the downtime to a minimum. This is when the carbon brush can be designed to clean up the contact surface.
Introduction to Large Language Models (LLMs) and Prompt Engineering
Large Language Models (LLMs), powered by artificial intelligence (AI), can process and generate human-like text, making them invaluable for a variety of applications, including technical support, documentation, and troubleshooting. Just remember, these tools can be prone to error and when unrealistic or poor prompts are used.

AC Motor Verification & Redesign with Motor Stats
This webinar goes through some data verification and redesign examples using the Motor Stats view within EASA’s AC Motor Verification & Redesign software to learn what it tells us and what it doesn’t tell us about our data.
Smells Like Money to Me
Sewage and wastewater treatment pumps can be profitable
Sewage and wastewater treatment pumps are common machines repaired in EASA service centers. While both odor and biohazard are real problems, there are ways to deal with each, and service centers looking to broaden their repair market should not shy away from a profitable market because of the odor and biohazard.
How EASA’s ERT Program Streamlined Our Apprenticeship Training
